Dr. Bergquist obtained his B.S. in biochemistry at the California State University, Los Angeles in 1973 and his M.D. at UCLA in 1977. He completed his residency at Harbor General Hospital in 1981, serving as Chief Resident there in 1980. He is licensed by the national Board of Medical Examiners and by the California Board of Medical Examiners (G38711), receiving both in 1978.

Dr. Bergquist has served on numerous boards and committees on issues relating to mental health. He was Chief of Staff at College Hospital from 1990-1993. He has taught in a variety of settings in medical schools and has been published.

He completes medication evaluations and prescribes medications for our patients. He is a gifted musician.
