Dr. Vaugh is a licensed psychologist, with a Masters of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy and a doctorate of
Psychology. She is also a Medical Doctor graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in which she was
a licensed physician. Her experience as a therapist commenced while working as a trainee- counselor at Coastal
Family Therapy in 2002, she provided counseling to children at the Head Start program at Boys & Girls Club of
Laguna Beach and with families and children at Saddleback Community Outreach. In both sites she counseled children
from ages 3 to 18 with emotional issues due to various traumatic experiences, low socioeconomic environment,
abandonment and/or parental drug and alcohol use.
During her internship she worked at Saddleback Unified School district; Bilingual Family Counseling Services and,
Aids Services Foundation, providing individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, children behavioral
therapy and group counseling. She counseled HIV/AIDS patients and their families, including adolescents and
children in a multicultural and diverse environment. She has experience with developmentally disabled consumers and
their families, adults and children.

Minority Health outpatient (MHO) a Program of The Substance Abuse Foundation, Long Beach (SAF) is a newly developed
mental health program SAMHSA funded, to serve minorities of African American and Latino clients, infected by
HIV/AIDS. As the program director her functions include developing, implementing and delivering of the services to
an economically disadvantaged population, with HIV/AIDS, substance abuse and other challenges. Provide supervision
to the mental health staff and interface with SAF staff. Assure the program is delivered in a culturally and
linguistically appropriate manner. Assure the meeting of goals and objectives of the program as per grant proposal.
Assure the staff maintains the necessary qualification as well as cultural and linguistic competencies. Assure the
paperwork; information and educational material are both in English and in Spanish. Develop on going staff training
in house and in the community. Produce a program report as needed, work in cooperation with evaluator at Center of
Behavioral Research in Long Beach State University. Participate in the required SAMHSA training. Maintain a valid
CA license. Provide group support for clients as needed. Provide individual therapy for monolingual community, and
other functions as needed.
February 2007-August 24-07: Clinical Supervisor at the Latino Family Institute, Project Nuestras Familias,
supported by The Abandoned Infant Assistance (AIA) program from Berkeley University. Her position requires
providing core prevention and intervention services to Latino families impacted by drug and alcohol abuse and /or
HIV/AIDS. All services are provided based on the Index child needs. Other functions include development of a health
status assessment for each family/child and an action plan. Identify problems or needs, intervention strategies,
needed services or resources needed by the family/children. Provide intensive, culturally-sensitive, personalized
home-based services for all project families. Provide referrals, training and counseling. Responsible for
developing and providing narrative documentation, letters and/or reports regarding updates on families/children.
Maintain and review records pertaining to clients. Participate and assist with Educational Workshops, Support
Groups and structured family activities. Be a liaison with Community leaders and develop a cooperative working
model with other agencies. Complete all necessary documentation according to project protocol. Meet monthly
progress report deadlines.
October 2004-August 2006: Mental Health Counselor, Aids Services Foundation
Responsibilities: Case load of about 100 clients. Intake diagnosis, assessment and treatment of individuals
infected with HIV and affected families. Support groups presentation, education, prevention. Development and
planning of classes for client support groups, Power Point presentations. She was a part of the Clinical team with
case management, social services and, nursing personnel at the Foundation and, with county providers and the Health
Care Agencies. Help develop support systems and, provide referrals for client's various needs. Prepared pertinent
documentation related to cases, based on County Mental Health and HIPPA requirements.
June-October 2004: Bilingual Family Therapy Services. Latino family services provider to families affected by
drug alcohol and mental health issues. As part of my training I worked providing individual and family counseling
and case management to high risk adolescents.

different services according to child's need. Case managed and followed eligibility process, placed consumers in
program and case management. Provided social services to consumers by referring them to resources for themselves
and their families. Prepared the necessary documentation as required and developed written and oral presentations
to employees. Interact with providers; participate of neurological evaluations for the diagnosis of autism and
other pervasive developmental disorders. Trained and supervised new workers in the Intake department. Attended
management meetings, board meetings and presentations related to client's rehabilitation needs.
1998 Job Coach, West View: Provided assistance and support to consumers at their job sites and homes.
Participated in team meetings to provide consumers with solutions to their daily needs. Case management, searched
for jobs and attended job interviews with consumers. Assisted consumers with their simple basic chores which are
indispensable for the daily life of a developmentally disabled. Prepared documentation, primary care plan and
progress reports.
1996-1998: Chapman Hospital, assisted OBGYN group in medical office as a medical assistant. Provided direct
services to clients and education on several subjects included Sexually Transmitted Illnesses, Contraception,
Prenatal care, etc.
1993-1995: Senior Intake Coordinator, Prenatal counselor and educator at Vista Community Clinic in the cities of
Vista and Oceanside. Provided HIV/Aids counseling, to parents and teens, provided counseling and education.
Until 1983 and while training in Medical school she worked as a physician in several hospitals including Mental
Institutions.
