Nancy received her Bachelors in Social Welfare degree from San Diego State University in 1976, she received her Masters in Social Work also from San Diego State University in 1984. She became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 1987, and she is a Certified Employee Assistance Professional since 1988.

Nancy's professional experiences have been diverse and varied. She has served as a:

Medical social worker at Green Hospital of Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, CA. 1977-1984: Duties included: Crises intervention - including counseling patients and families facing terminal illness, chemotherapy, invasive medical procedures and bone marrow transplantation.

National Program Manager, Priority Systems EAP - Overlook Hospital, Mountainside, NJ 1985-1987: She established and supervised a national network of affiliate counselors to provide brief treatment and crisis intervention to employees of EAP client companies.

Regional Director, National Resource Consultants, Inc. San Diego, CA 1987-1991: She managed EAP corporate contracts for Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino Counties. Counseled employees and family members using crisis intervention for a variety of mental health problems.

Consultant to Employee Assistance Programs - Long Beach, CA.: 1991-present She consulted with human resource directors of client companies to resolve workplace crises involving troubled employees. Advised corporations regarding violence in the workplace and substance abuse policies and procedures. She presented workplace seminars on topics such as Stress Management, Violence, and Management Training. She provided Critical Incident Debriefings to employee groups after disasters.

As an outpatient therapist Nancy has provided psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families for psychological, relationship, and substance abuse problems, in Long Beach since 1987. She is trained and prefers to work with a cognitive-behavioral and family therapy approach with her clients. Her areas of specialty include: Depression, Anxiety Disorders and Phobias, PTSD, Grief, Chemical Dependency, Couples and Family Issues.
