Judy Helbon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (L.C.S.W.). She earned her Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1984. She was licensed as a LCSW in California in 1989 (License number: 14357).

Before coming to California Judy trained in and worked for the Texas Department of Human Resources Centre St. Facility and their Sexual Abuse Unit. She also had training and clinical experience at the Family Court Services in Dallas.

Judy's experience and training include individual and group therapy, case management, group therapy for abused children and perpetrator mothers, adoption proceedings, family intervention and therapy, patient advocacy, and comprehensive patient assessments.

Judy is involved in the training and supervision of unlicensed social workers. She works as a field instructor with the California State University - Long Beach.

Judy at present works at the Metropolitan State Hospital in Norwalk, California. She is the Social Work Program Coordinator. She provides the functional and clinical supervision of 12 psychiatric social workers, provides clinical consultation to management, assists in the development of hospital and program policies and procedures.

Judy presently works in the La Palma office of Associated Therapists, Inc.
