Fitch Day Treatment Middle School Program-Provide group, milieu, individual, and family therapy for 6th through 8th graders enrolled in a day treatment program due to their emotional regulation difficulties. Coordinate with both mental health and educational staff to provide a consistent behavior modification/reward program. Complete special educational paperwork and needed assessments such as escalation cycle management plans, functional assessments, and IEP goals.
Department of Social Services Assessment and Treatment Team-Provide individual and family assessments for children placed in foster care due to abuse (Assessments often include interviews of parents, teachers, and children, family observations, developmental questionnaires and screeners, self-report measures, and projective measures). Provide individual therapy to children, support foster parents, and led a social skills group for 8 to 10 year old children.
Department of Youth Services, Youth Detention. 6/99-7/02. Eugene, Oregon
Life Challenge Program. 8/99-7/02--Developed an eight week (16 session) experiential learning, motivation enhancement program for youths incarcerated in detention to build their skills in several areas including interpersonal communication, goal setting, planning, and anger management. Facilitated the group, provided supervision and training to other facilitators, and have created a treatment manual.
Suicide Risk Panel Assessment Team. 4/01-7/02--Provided stabilization and assessment for suicidal youths residing in detention. Assisted in the coordination of the Suicide Risk Panel by writing assessments, updating the tracking system for youths currently in detention, notifying Suicide Risk Panel members about changes in youths' statuses, and assigning stabilization team members to meet individually with youths.Counselor for the Transition Program. 8/00-7/01-- Provided counseling, motivational interviewing and tutoring related to academic progress as part of a multi-systemic treatment program for youths returning to their homes in the community after being incarcerated. Also attended meetings with other transition team members regarding treatment and meetings with the youths' school faculty.
Assessment. 7/99-7/02--Administered portions of psychological assessments including WJ-R- tests of Cognitive Abilities and Achievement, MMPI-A, BDI, WAIS, and WISCs for youths residing in detention.
Senior Intern. 6/01-7/02--Provided supervision for other psychological interns working in detention. Completed organizational duties including scheduling meetings and tasks related to the clinical services provided by psychological services.
Special Programs Coordinator. 6/01-7/02-Coordinated with detention staff to create a special behavior plan and reward system for three youths who struggled to maintain standard behavior in detention.
Coping with Life. 6/99-9/99--Assist the main facilitator in a ten week coping with depression course that teaches incarcerated youths cognitive behavioral strategies to decrease their depression.
Girl's Group. 6/00-12/00--Co-facilitated a psycho-educational/process group for girls that focused mainly on developing interpersonal relationship skills, risky behavior management skills, and to assist them in coping with being in detention.
