Associated Therapist's professional staff are all individuals independently licensed in the State of California and are in independent private practice, working within the scope of their license and experience as required by the California Department of Consumer Affairs.
Psychiatrists / Nurse Practitioners
Associated Therapists is fortunate to have on its staff a group of psychiatrists and nurse practitioners. Each of these individuals have experience and training in the practice of medicine and nursing within their specialties and interests. These professionals are licensed to prescribe medication within the scope of their license and experience.
A nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse with advanced academic and clinical experience, which enables him or her to diagnose and manage most common and many chronic illnesses, either independently or as part of a health care team. A nurse practitioner provides some care previously offered only by physicians and in California has the ability to prescribe medications. The furnishing or ordering of drugs by a nurse practitioner occurs under physician supervision.
Psychologists
A Psychologist has earned a Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) or a Psy.D. (Doctor of Psychology) in the field of Psychology. Psychologist in mental health practice have specialized in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of mental and educational disorders. Psychologist training emphasizes psychological testing, evaluation, and scientific research in the development of the field of psychology.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker has earned a master's degree in Social Work (M.S.W.), and has passed the educational and experience requirements to hold a L.C.S.W. license in the State of California. These professionals are trained and specialize in the practice of psychotherapy, treating both individuals and families.

Marriage, Family and Child Therapist
A Marriage, Family and Child Therapists must have earned a master's degree and is trained and experienced in the treatment of marriage, family and child mental health problems. These professionals are licensed in the State of California and can see people both individually and in groups.
